Why you keeping so much junk in yo trunk?

So in the process of packing to move, I have thrown away a lot of JUNK. Not anything that I would want to give away to those friends of mine who like to keep what my dad calls "treasures" (Cindi Everitt...gotta give you props for being able to see beauty in all trash), but just junk. Why would I hold on to this junk for so long you ask? Why hold onto those Seventeen and Vogue magazines? I will never be 17 again, and I sure hope some of those fashions do NOT come back! I was asking myself why as I was tossing my old college binders into a garbage bag. I guess for some reason thought that I was going to need my English binder again someday. So I saved it for eight years. Or maybe in the back of my mind I thought I was gonna be famous and someone might want to publish my crappy poems about life in St. George, Utah. Why do we hold onto things from our past for so long? Is it so that we can take a glimpse back into a life that we once had, or the person we once were? Whatever the reason. Its not using up my space anymore. They are property of Dixie Waste Management now. And PS, for all you save the earth fans, the magazines were sent to the recycle bin and donated to a preschool, not tossed!!!

  1. I hear you loud and clear. I got rid of SOO much crap before I got married, moved, and moved again.
It's a great cleansing process. I've decided to de-junk every year!

  2. Sooo, your making me feel like I need to clean and organize. We have so much junk in our trunk! In fact, we have a whole room designated for it. That's so bad to admit. It's just crap that we don't know what to do with so it gets thrown in there. But really, why keep it? Hummmm, I think I need to get a bigger trash can.
